13 Shibir men put on remand in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM: A Chattogram court on Monday granted one-day remand for 13 leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir arrested from different areas of the city on September 3.

The court of Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Saleh Md Noman granted the remand after police produced the accused before it with 10-day remand prayer, said Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-Prosecution) Nirmalendu Bikash Chakrabartya of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP).

The accused were identified as Md Kutub Uddin, 23, Md Yasin Ahad Imon, 21, Md Ziaur Rahman, 22, Zunaidul Islam, 21, Saifullah Khaled, 24, Md Sajjad Hossain, 20, Md Ruhul Kader, 20, Md Meherajul Islam, 18, Md Imran Hossain, 20, Sabbir Hossain, 25, Sajedul Karim, 18, Khorshed Alam, 24, and Md Shakib, 18.

It may be mentioned that police on receiving information, arrested a Shibir leader from the city’s Sadarghat area on September 3.

Instructions for carrying out attack on police and important government establishments were found in his mobile phone.

Acting on his statement, 12 other Shibir-men were arrested from different areas of the city.

Later, a case was filed accusing the arrestees with the police station on charge of planning to carry out subversive activities.
