Spellbound by Bangladesh’s progress…

Turkish journalist Ahmet Coskunaydin said he was overwhelmed to see the impressive growth, development and achievements of Bangladesh in the socio-economic fronts.

The chief editor of Gunaydin International was sharing experiences of his recent visit to Bangladesh at Cagaloglu Lions Club, one of the oldest and prestigious Lions Club in Turkey, on Tuesday.

He urged businessmen and investors of his country to explore the opportunities that Bangladesh offers in the fields of trade and investment without wasting further time.

The Bangladesh Consulate General in Istanbul made a presentation on ‘Bangladesh: A land of immense possibilities’ at the programme.

Bangladesh Consul General Dr Mohammad Monirul Islam delivered a keynote speech at the event, according to the Consulate General.

In his speech, Monirul highlighted various aspects of our glorious liberation war, leading to the emergence of independent and sovereign Bangladesh under the courageous and visionary leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The consul general briefed the participants on the political, societal, demographic and cultural strengths of Bangladesh.

Underscoring historical, cultural, religious and emotional bonds shared by Bangladesh and Turkey, he said the two countries hold immense potentials to grow and prosper together if their untapped potentials are harnessed effectively.

He said Rohingya issue has injected a new impetus into the existing bilateral cooperation, bringing the two countries even closer.

He admired the people and leadership of Turkey for their moral, political and humanitarian support.

Gurhan Kose, president of Cagaloglu Lions Club, said in his welcome remarks that this type of event would certainly strengthen the understanding between the people of Bangladesh and Turkey.

He appreciated the Consulate General of Bangladesh for such event and expressed the hope that such collaborations will continue in the days to come.

The event is expected to enhance the level of understanding of Turkish people about Bangladesh, which would eventually contribute towards further deepening the friendship between Bangladesh and Turkey as well as raising profile and image of Bangladesh in Turkey.
