Bangladesh archers off to Germany

A 12-member Bangladesh Archery team including team officials took off for Germany on Saturday morning to take part in the forthcoming Berlin 2018 Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 4 competition.

Total eight archers including five for recurve and three for compound events will compete in the World Cup for the first time ever which is scheduled to be held in Berlin from July 16 to 22.

Previously Bangladesh played in the World Archery Championships in 2011, 2013 and 2015.

Bangladesh will take part in recurve men’s team event, recurve mixed team event, recurve men’s single event, recurve women’s single event, compound mixed team event, compound men’s single event and compound women’s single event in the week-long competition.

Ace Bangladeshi archer Ruman Sana will join the team from Switzerland while Tamimul Islam, Sheikh Ibrahim, Milon and Nasrin Akter will compete in recurve events. Ashim Kumar Das, Abul Kashem Mamun and Bonna Akter will join the fight in the compound event.
