Maritime ports asked to hoist signal no 3

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three as the low over the northwest bay and adjoining coastal area now lies over Chattisgarh and adjoining Odisha of India.

Under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over North Bay, squally weather is likely over the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said Md Bazlur Rashid meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

All fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
