Morocco has long been assisting Palestinian people on the ground by carrying out some concrete projects in the Palestinian territory, said the Moroccan Embassy in Dhaka on Sunday.
Under the leadership of its ruler King Mohammed VI, Morocco is also conducting a humanitarian aid campaign in the Palestinian territory, said the embassy in a statement. The King is playing vital roles in the economic progress of the Palestenians besides taking lead in diplomacy for the Palestinian causes, the statement said.
Morocco distributed humanitarian aids among Palestinians during Ramadan to help alleviate their sufferings, it said.
The humanitarian campaign was first launched in Gaza Strip, but it was later extended to Jerusalem and Ramallah, it maintained.
The Moroccan King himself supervised the campaign, the statement noted.
In aid to Palestinians, the Kingdom also set up a field hospital in Gaza Strip which is managed by the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces.
The hospital covers a range of medical specialties, including pediatrics, orthopedics, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat.Apart from financial assistance, as chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the Moroccan King also maintains close contact with the world leaders to reduce the sufferings of the Palestinians.
The King also supervised financial assistance to the Palestinians on the ground as Chairman of Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif has managed to implement many important economic and social projects in the holy city of Jerusalem.
The institution is involved in different development projects in the Palestinian territory including housing, education, health, social affairs and women, children and youths development.
The Moroccan King thinks Al-Quds has been and will remain a space for coexistence and tolerance - a collective heritage shared by the followers of the revealed religions.
The King said all must preserve and safeguard the holy city by being purposefully mobilized, exerting sincere efforts and proposing sound ideas.
To give concrete substance to his approach, which reflects the importance and universal and symbolic value of Al-Quds, the King suggests convening of certain sessions of International Conference on Al-Quds outside the Arab and Islamic world.
