Lighting kills six in four districts

At least six people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike in Sunamganj, Rajbari, Jhenaidah and Cumilla districts on Saturday, reports UNB.

In Sunamganj, a farmer and a female student of Islamganj Degree College were killed by lightning strike in Gourararang union of Sadar upazila.

The deceased were identified as Md Ekhlasur Rahman, 45.

In Rajbari, another farmer was killed in lighting strike while he was returning home from a local market in charmajlishpur village of Ujanchar union in Goalanda in the afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Khorshed Bepari, 65.

In Jhenaidah, two people were killed after being struck by lightning in two upazilas of the district on Saturday afternoon.

In Cumilla, farmer Rahmat Ali, 45, son of late Akkas Ali, was killed after being struck by lightning while harvesting paddy in the field at Gallai Uttarpara in Chandina upazila on Saturday afternoon.
