JAKARTA: A senior official at the Indonesian central bank, Bank Indonesia (BI), said on Friday that BI and the Japanese government have agreed to amend the Bilateral Swap Arrangement (BSA) to give extra flexibility for Indonesia to use the facility.

Among the terms to be amended was Indonesia's increasing flexibility to withdraw cash in yen as well as in U.S. dollar through BSA mechanism, BI International Department Executive Director Doddy Zulverdi said, reports Xinhua.

He added that the amendment was intended to further strengthen the BSA established by BI and Japan Financial Ministry since 2003.
