BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday alleged that party chairperson Khaleda Zia is not receiving proper treatment in prison.

The government is reluctant to administer proper treatment to Khaleda Zia, he said talking to reporters at the party central office in Nayapaltan of the capital.

The BNP leader also expressed doubt as to whether the current Awami League government is running the country. “I think no political party is now running the country. It’s now run by other elements,” he said.

He claimed that there is no internal conflict within the 20-party alliance and they are getting on well together.
