A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur and Bangladesh Institute of Journalism and Electronic Media (BIJEM), Dhaka.

Begum Rokeya University vice chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah and BIJEM executive director (ED) Mirza Tarequl Qader signed the MoU at a ceremony held at the conference room of the university administrative building recently, says a press release.

As per MoU, Begum Rokeya University faculty members, students and officers will get an opportunity to participate in BIJEM training courses, workshops and lecture sessions on mass communication, journalism, media, public relations, and ICT. They can also engage themselves in collaborate activities with BIJEM in the field of education and research. 

The dignitaries present on the occasion included Dr Sharifa Salwa Dina, administrator of PR, Information and Publications and Professor of Bangla Department Tabiur Rahman Prodhan, senior faculty of the Department of Journalism and general secretary of the Teachers’ Association; Muhammad Ibrahim Kabir, registrar; Dr Nazmul Haque, Professor of Bangla Department and other faculty members and officials of the university.
