Man ‘kills’ cousin over trivial matter

RAJSHAHI: A man was killed allegedly by his cousin at Baghata village in Poba upazila over a trivial matter on Monday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Siddiqur Rahman, 55, of the village.

Quoting locals, police said there had been altercation between Siddiqur and his cousin Abdur Razzak as a duck of the latter was crushed under the wheels of rickshaw van around 9am.

As a sequel to the conflict, Razzak hit his cousin with a stick on his head, leaving him dead on the spot, said Parimal Kumar Chakrabarti, officer-in-charge of Poba Police Station.

On information, police detained father and brother of Razzak.

However, Razzak went into hiding soon after the incident.
