‘Women Leadership Festival’ ends

‘Women Leadership Festival’ concluded in the city Sunday night where Inspiring Women’s Award was given to successful women and a women-friendly organization.

Bangladesh Brand Forum and Women in Leadership (WIL) organised the three-day event marking the International Women’s Day at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The underlying message of Inspiring Women’s Award is to officially recognize women’s efforts to contribute to the economic growth of the country.

Prime Minister’s International Affairs Advisor Gowher Rizvi was present as the chief guest. Women in Leadership President Nazia Andaleeb Preema and ACI Consumer Brands Managing Director Syed Alamgir were also present on the occasion.

A total of 217 nomination papers were submitted this year under 15 categories. Two jury panels, consisting of experts and renowned professionals, selected the winners. Among the 15 awardees, 13 were women, one was the most female-friendly organisation and one was a female-supporting male individual.

Forbes Media India Editor Nazneen Karmali, Future Considerations Director Beth Macdonald, Asian University of Women Vice Chancellor Prof Nirmala Rao, Dhaka University Prof Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir and Grameenphone Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mahmud Hossain participated in different sessions of the festival.

Around 20 discussion meetings were arranged on various topics ranging from career opportunity to personal affairs. More than 100 professionals from different multinational and local companies shared their experience.
