With autocratic dominance, Dhaka Abahani Ltd bulldozed over Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd by 112 runs in their Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Monday.

In their quest to topple the 260-run target set by Abahani, Mohammedan gave up the fight on the face of a disciplined and lethal bowling attack of the blues and slumped to 147 in 30.4 overs.

With this thumping win, Abahani cemented their top spot in the points table with 12 points with an unbeaten track record. Mashrafe Mortaza set the tone for the triumph, bagging wickets of Jony Talukder, Mohammedan skipper Shamsur Rahman and Rony Talukder - within 11.3 overs.

Irfan Sukkur (40) was the top scorer in Mohammedan innings. He paired with Raqibul Hasan (28) in a bid to stage a comeback but their effort was in vain.  The last man standing for Mohammedan, Raqibul, fell to Taskin Ahmed, leaving Mohammedan in a deep trouble.

Abahani star bowlers Mehedi Hasan Miraz and pacer Mashrafe shared three Mohammedan wickets each conceding 28 and 37 runs respectively. They were well supported by Manpreet Gony who bagged two wickets giving away only 25 runs.

Sheikh Jamal bowler Robiul Haque managed two wickets for 36 runs. Jamal neevreply, Sheikh Jamal fell short as they were all out for 237 in 45 overs, despite a fighting century by their skipper Nurul Hasan.

Sheikh Jamal skipper Nurul Hasan 128-ball 100 run was not enough for the salvation of his side. His batting extravaganza featured 7 fours and a single six.

But the fight was a lone one for Nurul as only 4 of Jamal batsmen managed to reach double digits. Hasanuzzaman (36), Elias Sunny (31) and Ziaur Rahman (17) were the other three batsmen.

Farhad Reza caused most of the damage as he devoured 4 Jamal wickets for 56 runs while Arafat Sunny managed to trap two for 56.

Over at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground 3 in Savar, Mohammad Sharif produced a brilliant hat-trick to end the day with six wickets as he fuelled Legends of Rupganj DPL triumph over a feeble Gazi Group Cricketers by five-wickets.
