Bangladesh National U-19 Cricket Team’s warm-up match against Pakistan was abandoned due to persistent rain on Wednesday.

The four practice matches scheduled for yesterday were washed out with incessant rains across Christchurch, where teams are preparing for the upcoming ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2018, reports Icc-cricket.com.

In the other matches scheduled for the day, Afghanistan were to play Namibia, New Zealand were pitted against Papua New Guinea and defending champions the Windies were to play Zimbabwe.

Afghanistan, Pakistan, New Zealand and the Windies had all warmed-up for the 16-team tournament with wins on Monday, the first day of the warm-up matches.

The last set of practice matches today will see former champions Australia and South Africa play each other, Canada take on Ireland, India play Kenya and England face Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the Event Technical Committee of the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2017 has approved Euan Woods as a replacement player for Thomas Lammonby in the England squad for the tournament. Lammonby, a left-handed batsman who bowls left-arm medium pace, suffered an injury to his left hand during practice. Woods is also a left-hander who bowls off-spin.
