CHITTAGONG: Former Member of Parliament (MP) and freedom fighter Md Yusuf was shifted to Combined Military Hospital in the capital for better treatment on Tuesday afternoon.
Chittagong Civil Surgeon Dr Azizur Rahman Siddiqi said the former MP Yusuf was taken to the CMH under supervision of a medical board by an ICU ambulance by road at around 4:00pm.“The medical board comprising of five professors decided to shift him to Dhaka for better treatment as his condition is critical,” the civil surgeon said.
Mentionable, news and pictures of miserable condition of the ailing lawmaker went viral through social media facebook over the last few days.
Following this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed Chittagong Deputy Commissioner (DC) to take necessary steps for proper treatment of the ailing former lawmaker.
Upon directive from the DC office, a team of physicians led by the civil surgeon rushed to the house of ailing Yusuf at Rangunia upazila town in the district and took him to CMCH.
