Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Monday said police will look into the allegations of harassment of a woman against  DIG Mizanur Rahman.

“Nobody is above law. Stern action will be taken if he is found guilty,” the  minister said.

He made the warning after distributing warm clothes among the destitute in the capital’s Nakhalpara area.

The minister said an internal investigation against the police officer is under way.

A woman alleged that  DIG Mizan, also an additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), forcibly picked her up from her Panthapath residence adjacent to Square Hospital.

Later he kept her confined to his bailey road residence for three days and married her by force in presence of her mother. The incident took place on July 17 last year. Later DIG Mizan hired a flat for his newly married wife at Maltamia in the capital.
