The ruling Awami League will distribute warm clothes and relief materials among the cold-affected people in the country’s norther districts.
The ruling party is going to stand by the cold-hit poor people as temperature at Tetulia of Panchagarh district dipped to 2.6degrees Celsius on Monday, the lowest on the record.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, temperature averaged out to the country’s all-time low in the 24 hours prior to 6:00am Monday morning.
Temperature at Syedpur in Nilphamari was second at 2.9 degrees Celsius while it was 3 degrees Celsius at Dimla, 3.1 degree Celsius at Rajarhat in Kurigram and 3.2 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur.
An AL delegation led by its general secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday left the capital for the northern districts.
Other members of the team are Jahangir Kabir Nanak, BM Mozammel Haque, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and Sujit Roy Nandi.
The team members will distribute blankets and relief materials in Panchagarh, Thakurgaon and Nilphamari districts.
