The market of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been experiencing a 45 percent annual growth for last couple of years, according to industry insiders.

In all, 11 private companies are functioning in the sector, though the government has so far given around 40 licences.

In 1999, Bashundhara LP Gas Limited started its journey as the first private LP gas importing, bottling and marketing company in Bangladesh.

“Considering the positive growth of the industry and  the growing demand from the users, Bashundhara sets up South East Asia’s second largest LPG filling plant in Keraniganj, Dhaka, which will start its operation soon,” Bashundhara LPG Head of Marketing MM Jasim Uddin said.

Being the pioneer in private LPG business, Bashundhara frequently initiates several awareness campaigns to influence users towards LPG.

In 2011, the company saw its establishment of world-class cylinder manufacturing plant in the name of Sundarban Industrial Complex Ltd in Mongla Port Industrial Area on the bank of river Pashur.

Bashundhara LP Gas also performs social awareness campaigns under the banner of ‘Nirapod Nibash’ to make people understand the obvious financial and environmental benefits of LPG use.

Mentioning the logistics strength as an important factor for a company, Jasim Uddin said the logistics strength of the companies will play a significant role in making required products available countrywide.

An organisation has to be set-up to regulate the industry properly and to determine the market trend. Besides, mass awareness among users should be created to support the growth of Bangladesh’s LPG industry, he added.

Awareness is needed to change the consumption pattern of people and boost the LPG as a convenient fuel in households and commercial projects, said MM Jasim Uddin.

“Subsequently, Bashundhara LPG launched a new communication campaign titled ‘Concentrating on Semi-urban and Rural People’ and it got a good response from the audience,” he said.

About the special quality of their product, Jasim Uddin said, “Bashundhara LP Gas takes pride in its widest distribution network having distributors and dealers/ retailers across every nook and corner of the country. But above all, the product itself is unique in its category for some remarkable features,”

To ensure an uninterrupted distribution around Bangladesh, the company has its self-owned road tankers and customised delivery trucks to make sure  products reach the farthest point of its delivery network.

The company officials also informed that the Bashundhara LP Gas is going to build new vessels for carrying LP gas in river across the country.

Each and every Bashundhara LP Gas cylinder undergoes a regular re-check to ensure safety and put through a series of tests at the factory’s laboratory before marketed. Unlike other cylinders available in the market, our cylinders come with a maximum body thickness and its promised weight, said Jasim Uddin.

Bashundhara LP Gas comes up with a complete LPG solutions named ‘Easy Solutions’ which is  suitable for the bulk LPG users while there is an imminent gas crisis.

Bashundhara LP Gas is best known for its superior engineering, service excellence, state-of-the-art machinery, top-notch raw materials, cylinder thickness, technical support team and above all its inimitable after sales service.
