472 tonnes of rice to be distributed among poor Hindu families in Khulna

KHULNA: The government has allotted over 472 tonnes of rice to distribute among 944 Puja mandaps in Khulna district and city with a view to making the celebration of Durga Puja, the biggest festival of Banglee Hindu community, smooth and peaceful, reports BSS.

District Relief and Disaster Management Officer Azizul Haque Zoarder today said each puja mandap would get 500 kgs of rice.

He said, “The government is proving the rice to the people of Hindu community to make the celebration of Durga Puja smooth.”

Meanwhile, Khulna City Corporation authorities will disburse Taka 5.17 lakh among 74 puja mandaps.
