Govt allocates over Tk 2cr for Nilphamari farmers

NILPHAMARI: The government has allocated over Taka 2.2 crore as incentive for small and marginal farmers of the district for cultivating five varieties of crops during the upcoming Robi season, reports BSS.


Assistant Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Keramot Ali said 14,748 farmers will get the incentive for the cultivation.


Of the total, 1,500 farmers will get Taka over 11.63 lakh for cultivating mustard on 1,500 bighas of land, 6,000 farmers will get Taka 98.70 lakh for cultivating wheat on 6,000 bighas of land, and 6,500 farmers will get Taka 84.63 lakh for cultivating maize on 6,500 bighas of land.


Besides, 48 farmers will get Taka 39,120 for cultivating brinjal on 48 bighas of land and 700 farmers will get Taka over 6.98 lakh for cultivating mugdul on 700 bighas of land.
