The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday approved a case against ABM Zainal Abedin, former Sub-Registrar of Labour Court-2 of Dhaka, on charges of causing loss Tk 5.5 lakh of government through forgery.
“ACC approved the case against the former sub-register at its regular meeting at the commission’s head office in the capital,” said ACC Spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.
He also said, “ACC Deputy-Assistant Director Omar Faruk, also the Inquiry Officer of the allegation, will file the case soon.”
Investigators found that Zainal Abedin was born on January 1 in 1940 as per his certificate, but he mentioned January 1 of 1944 as his birthday date on his service book through forgery.
Changing his birthday date on his service book, he was doing the government job for additional four years and he received Tk 5,55,364 as salary and other benefits during the period.
