Two Rohingyas held with 3,000 Yaba tablets

CHITTAGONG: Officials of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested two Rohingyas with 3,000 Yaba tablets from the city’s Firingee Bazar area on Sunday.

The arrestees are identified as Md Ilias, 22, and Md Hasan, 35, residents of Rohingya refugee camps at Kutupalong in Ukhia and Leda in Teknaf upazilas under Cox’s Bazar district respectively.  

DNC Chittagong Metro Sub Zone Deputy Director (DD) Shamim Ahmed said on information, a team of the DNC raided the Firingee Bazar area at around 3:00pm. They arrested the duo and recovered the Yaba tablets kept in rectum tactfully, he said.

The duo brought the Yaba tablets from Teknaf and got down from a bus in Shah Amanat Bridge area.
