Five personalities get Wazed Miah Gold Medal

Five renowned personalities, including three Bangladeshis and two Indians, have been awarded the Dr MA Wazed Miah Gold Medal for their contributions to education and social development.

The awardees are Syed Abul Hossain, father Rodney Borneo (social welfare), Prof Shariff Enamul Kabir and late Farid Uddin Ahmed (scientific research), Satyam Roy Chowdhury (education) and Prof Mizanul Hasan (medical science).

Besides, two women got honorary awards on the occasion.

Wazed Miah Memorial Science Foundation (WMMSF) has organized the award-giving ceremony at the National Press Club in the capital on Sunday.

State Minister for Science and Technology Yafes Osman as present at the programme as the chief guest while Awami League presidium member Yusuf Hossain Humayun attended it as the guest of hounor WMMSF central president Forhadul Kabir presided over the event.

At the end of the programme, the WMMSF announced a 51-member central committee for its student wing.
