Nuclear fuel delivery for Rooppur Unit-2 to begin in October: Rosatom

Nuclear fuel deliveries for Unit-2 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant will begin in October and continue through December, Russia’s state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom said on Tuesday.

“The delivery of nuclear fuel for Unit-2 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant is scheduled to begin in October 2026 and continue through December 2026, with the supplies to be completed by the end of December,” Rosatom said in a statement.

The fuel will be transported in several flights in line with the terms of the contract and the project schedule, it said.

The deliveries are part of preparations to bring Rooppur’s second unit into operation, with the project being developed with Russian technical and financial assistance.
