The Epstein Files have left the world shocked, with new high-profile names being found every day in the files, revealing documents, photos, and videos that detail the crimes of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Among many high-profile names was that of ace Indian filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap, and now Kashyap has reacted to the claims.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Anurag denied any connection with Jeffrey Epstein and shared, “I’ve no clue about this. I get invitations as a speaker, about 15 a month. I rarely respond. Also, I have never been to Beijing in my life!"
“It’s some random email, that’s self-explanatory. The clickbait in my name are more popular than my films,” Anurag continued, while stating that the nature of the documents themselves isn’t convincing.
New court papers related to Jeffrey Epstein have named some Indian and Indian-origin people. The recent release of long-sealed court documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein has once again shaken global discourse.
Filmmaker Mira Nair is one of the most discussed names in the latest tranche. According to an email reproduced in the files, she attended a party hosted at Ghislaine Maxwell’s New York townhouse. The gathering was described as an after-party linked to the promotion of Nair’s 2009 film Amelia.
The email, written by a third party, casually listed several high-profile attendees. There is no allegation, follow-up correspondence, or suggestion of impropriety involving Nair.
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is mentioned indirectly as a “Bollywood guy” in emails discussing proposed intellectual gatherings in places like Cuba. The documents do not confirm his attendance or any meeting with Epstein.
