People, including leaders and activists of BNP and its different affiliated organisations, continue to visit the grave of former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Zia Udyan in the capital to pay their respects, offer prayers, and lay wreaths.

People from all walks of life, including students, women and elderly men, many of whom travelled from distant parts of the country, were seen visiting the grave on Thursday, nine days after the burial of Khaleda Zia.

Many of them were seen placing wreaths at the grave and reciting verses from the Holy Quran, praying for the eternal peace and forgiveness of the departed souls.

Besides, the leaders and activists of the Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal paid rich tributes to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and late BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia by placing wreaths at their mausoleums.

The programme was held at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area, where more than 200 leaders and activists from both central and grassroots levels of the organisation gathered to honour the memories of the two prominent leaders.

The event was marked by a solemn and respectful atmosphere, reflecting the deep reverence of the party’s associate wing for its founding leader, Ziaur Rahman, and longtime chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia.

Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the Krishak Dal leaders and activists offered fateha and participated in doa and munajat, praying for the eternal peace of the departed souls of the two leaders.

Khaleda Zia was laid to rest beside her husband, former President Ziaur Rahman, on 31 December last year, after passing away at the Evercare Hospital on 30 December.
