Reports of Tarique Rahman’s illness are baseless: Media cell

BNP’s media cell has dismissed as completely false and baseless the reports claiming that the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has fallen ill.

In a press release issued on Saturday (11 October) night, BNP Media Cell Convener Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel confirmed that Tarique Rahman is in good health.

“The claims circulating on social media regarding Tarique Rahman’s illness are nothing but rumours,” Pavel said.

Urging everyone to avoid spreading such misleading information, he reminded the media of its ethical responsibility to verify facts.

The clarification came after several online news portals and social media platforms recently spread rumours about Tarique Rahman’s health condition.
