Bulbul to lead BPL, Razzak heads Women’s Wing, Pilot in charge of HP Unit

The newly elected Board of Directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) held their first meeting on Tuesday (7 October), during which the responsibilities of various committees were distributed among the directors.

BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul, who was recently elected unopposed, will oversee the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as Chairman of its Governing Council. He will also head the Working Committee and the Grounds Committee, highlighting his central role in the board’s operations.

Former national coach and cricket educator Nazmul Abedeen Fahim has been appointed Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee.

Other notable appointments include Sakhawat Hossain as head of the Marketing Committee, M Nazmul Islam and Amjad Hossain in charge of the Finance Committee, and Ishtiaque Sadeque leading the Game Development Committee. Ahsan Iqbal Chowdhury will chair the Tournament Committee, while Asif Akbar takes charge of Age-Level Tournaments.

The High Performance (HP) Unit will be supervised by former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mashud Pilot, and the Bangladesh Tigers Program will be led by Rahat Shams. Abdur Razzak has been named Chairman of the Women’s Wing, and Adnan Rahman Dipon will oversee the CCDM, which manages the Dhaka Premier League.

The BPL Governing Council will feature Aminul Islam Bulbul as Chairman and Iftikhar Rahman Mithu as Member Secretary.

The first board meeting also finalized committee heads for other key areas, including the Disciplinary Committee (Faizur Rahman Mitu), Facilities Committee (Shanian Taneem), Medical Committee (Manjur Alam), Security Committee (Mehrab Alam Chowdhury), Audit Committee (Hasanuzzaman), and Welfare Committee (Mokhsedul Alam Babu).

The Physically Challenged Cricket Committee will be chaired by Zulfikar Ali Khan.
