Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain held a bilateral meeting on Friday (26 Sept) with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov on the sidelines of the 80th UNGA High-Level Week.

A major highlight of the meeting was the signing of the agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic passports between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan, said a press release.

The two ministers also discussed strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, higher education, and connectivity, including opportunities for Bangladeshi students in universities in Uzbekistan and the export of semi-skilled and skilled human resources from Bangladesh to Uzbekistan.

They also exchanged views on collaboration in multilateral fora.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, underscoring the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.
