People in a riverine country like Bangladesh have the most opportunities to enjoy the pleasure of a boat trip. The tranquil journey of a boat floating on a calm river appeases the mind. That’s why Bashundhara Shuvosangho Savar Upazila Branch organised a boat trip on the Bangshi River.

The boat trip, organised by Bashundhara Shuvosangho, took place on Sunday (17 August) on the Bangshi River at Rupnagar in Dhamrai of Savar.

Shafiqul Islam Pintu, General Secretary of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Savar Upazila Branch, conducted the event.

Jahangir Alam, vice president of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Savar Upazila Branch; Zafar Iqbal, organizing secretary; Farzana Mitu, assistant organizing secretary; Haider Ali Reza, health affairs secretary; Liaqat Ali Sarkar, information and technology affairs secretary; Kasmeri Akter Akhi, education and curriculum secretary; Kohinur Akter, women and children affairs secretary; Tarin Akter, hospitality affairs secretary; Anwarul Haque, office secretary; and other members were also present at that time.

At the same time, it is a part of our heritage. In Bangladesh, many big cities and rural areas are connected by waterways, so a boat trip is not just a source of pleasure but also a necessity. It refreshes the mind, expands knowledge, and removes the monotony of life.”

The river waves, the green trees on the banks, and the occasional fishing boats—all together create a mesmerizing scene. When a boat passes through the heart of the river, it feels like we have entered a new world.
