Mahbub Ali Khan's 41st death anniversary Wednesday

The 41st death anniversary of Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan, also a former minister for communications and agriculture and father-in-law of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, will be observed on Wednesday.
Elaborate programmes have been arranged to observe the day with due respect, both at home and abroad.
The day’s programmes will begin with the placing of floral wreaths at his grave, where Quran Khatam, Quran Khawani, and special prayers will be held. His grave is beside his favourite Naval Headquarters.
The Bangladesh Navy will hold doa mahfils and special prayers at all its naval bases for the peace and salvation of his departed soul.
Quran Khatam, Quran Khawani, doa mahfils and special prayers will also be held at Mahbub Bhaban in the capital’s Dhanmondi area after Maghrib prayers, said a press release on Tuesday.
Begum Mahbub Ali Khan has requested all to pray for the departed soul.
A doa mahfil and special prayers will also be held at SUROVI, a charitable organisation for underprivileged children, established by Begum Mahbub Ali Khan.
Quran Khatam, doa mahfils, and special prayers will take place in various madrasas and orphanages in Dhaka, including Jamia Qurbania Talimia Daoraye Hadis Women Madrasa and Orphanage, Baoniabad; Jamia Qurbania Arabia Madrasa and Orphanage, Bhashantek Cantonment; and Sanmandi Khan Bari Daryl Quran Hafizia Madrasa and Orphanage, Sonargaon, Narayanganj.
Special prayers will also be held in at least 21 mosques in Dhaka, including the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
The day will also be observed in Mahbub Ali Khan’s birthplace, Sylhet, with due solemnity. Programmes will include doa mahfils, Quran Khawani and food distribution among the needy.
Special prayers and Quran Khawani will also be held at various mosques in Sylhet, Bogura, Jamalpur, as well as in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the US, and the UK.
On this day 41 years ago, Mahbub Ali Khan sacrificed his life for the suffering of humanity.
