Sylhet likely to host Bangladesh-Netherlands T20I series

The upcoming three-match T20I series between Bangladesh and the Netherlands is likely to be held in Sylhet, as per the draft itinerary prepared by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The Dutch team is expected to arrive in Dhaka on 14 August, with the matches scheduled to take place between 19 and 25 August at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

This will mark the first-ever bilateral T20I series between Bangladesh and the Netherlands on Bangladeshi soil. The two sides last faced off in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where Bangladesh secured a 25-run victory.

The upcoming series is also being viewed as a key preparation opportunity for Bangladesh ahead of the Asia Cup, which will be held in the UAE from 9 to 28 September.

Sylhet has become a familiar venue for T20Is in recent years, having hosted 13 matches so far, including a three-match series against Sri Lanka in March 2024 and a two-match versus Afghanistan in 2023.
