Indian military operations have been aimed exclusively at terrorist camps and facilities being used for anti-India activities, while no religious sites have been targeted by the Indian Armed Forces, says the Indian Ministry of Defence.

“Pakistan has been spreading fabricated allegations that the Indian Armed Forces have targeted mosques,” the ministry said in a special briefing on “Operation Sindoor” on Saturday, hours after both countries agreed to a ceasefire.

“Several attempts were made by Pakistan on spreading misinformation in the last few days. There were attempts made to say that our S-400 at a northern base was destroyed by a JF-17, which was completely false,” it said.

“Also the claim that the BrahMos installation was attacked and it was destroyed was false. The claim regarding destruction of airfields at Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Bhuj, Naliya etc. was also false.”

The Indian Ministry of Defence claimed that Pakistan has suffered very heavy and unsustainable losses – extensive damage to airbases, military infrastructure, command control centres, and logistic installations, and loss of AD weapon system and radars, etc.

“This has led to a complete breakdown of Pakistan’s defensive and offensive capabilities and Pakistani morale,” the defence ministry said.

“Whilst adhering to the understanding that has been reached today [Saturday], we remain fully prepared and ever vigilant and committed to defending the sovereignty and integrity of the motherland,” it added.

Pakistan and India agreed Saturday to a full and immediate ceasefire, the news surprisingly announced by US President Donald Trump, who congratulated them on using "common sense".

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence,” Trump posted the announcement on his Truth Social network.

Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said both sides would “stop all firing and military action on land, air and sea” with effect from 5pm (1130 GMT).

In a statement on X, Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said, “Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity!”
