A fire broke out on the rooftop of a multi-storey building in Dhaka’s Purana Paltan area on Saturday night.

The fire originated at a tin-roofed warehouse of the 11-storey Sabbir Tower and firefighters were alerted to the incident at 8:25pm, Rakib Al Hasan, duty officer at the control room of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, told the Daily Sun.

Eight firefighting units rushed to sport and were working to bring the blaze under control, he said.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
