Poeticgem secured a thrilling 13-run win over Japan Tobacco International (JTI) in the MNC Champions Trophy 2025, presented by Bashundhara Sports City and powered by Gold’s Gym Bangladesh, at Bashundhara Sports City Cricket Ground on Friday.

Electing to field, JTI restricted Poeticgem to 153-9 in 20 overs. Asaduzzaman Rayhan Babu led the charge with a blistering 50 off 27 balls. Abdur Rahman added a crucial 33 off 31. Zahir Islam, Aquib Jawad, and Mahadi Hasan Shishir took two wickets each.

In reply, JTI captain Abid Arman scored a steady 48 off 49 balls, but the chase fell short at 140-8. Mahfujul Islam Emon, MD. Khokon Morol, and Babu each claimed two wickets, sealing Poeticgem’s third straight win.

In the day’s second match, HSBC continued their dominance with a 7-wicket victory over Standard Chartered Bangladesh (SCB). SCB posted 123 all out, with Kamruzzaman Emon scoring 58 off 55. Anoy Kumar Biswas Apu starred with the ball, taking 3 wickets.

HSBC chased the target comfortably, thanks to an 83-run stand between Syedul Tanvir Hoque Priyam and Anonto Siddiqui. They wrapped up the match with three overs to spare.

Semifinals are scheduled for 9 May, with the final on 10 May.
