Bangladesh bounced back in emphatic fashion to level the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, sealing an innings-and-106-run win in the second Test in Chattogram on Wednesday.

After a disappointing defeat in the first Test, the Tigers roared back, thanks largely to Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s all-round heroics — a brilliant century with the bat and a five-wicket haul with the ball.

“Alhamdulillah. I feel really good. Honestly, after losing the first match, the way we bounced back was very important,” Miraz said after the match.

“Everyone believed we would do well, and I want to thank coach Babul Sir and team manager Nafees Iqbal bhai. They always support and boost me.”

Miraz’s hundred helped Bangladesh post a dominant first-innings total before he led the bowling charge to dismantle Zimbabwe, picking up key wickets and finishing with five in the match.

Reflecting on the performance, he said, “Yes, definitely. I feel really good. I scored a hundred and took three wickets against West Indies once, but today I got five and we won — that makes it one of the best days of my career.”
