Jhenaidah Cadet College wins global space design award

Jhenaidah Cadet College has brought international acclaim to Bangladesh by clinching the first prize in the 9th Grade (Large Group) category of the 2024 “Living in a Healthy Space” Design Competition, organised by the US-based National Space Society (NSS), said an ISPR press release.
The cadets’ innovative project titled “Stellar Sanctuaries: Orchestrating Effervescent Health with Celestial Garden” stood out among hundreds of submissions from around the globe. It was praised for its creative approach to food security, resource management, and sustainable waste systems in extraterrestrial habitats.
The winning team comprised Cadet Aryan Hussain Sahir, Cadet Iftekhar Mahmud Asif, Cadet Rafan Mashrur Haque, Cadet Tashrif Hasan, Cadet SK Ahnaf Haque, and Cadet Zeesan Mahmud. Their effort was supported by the college’s alumni association, JEXCA, and inspired by the college’s robotics lab “Automatos 27.”
A total of 9,028 participants from 1,641 institutions across 11 countries competed in the international contest, which aimed to encourage innovative thinking about health and wellness solutions for future human settlements in space.
