Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan on Sunday visited several key locations involved in the ongoing Akash Bijoy 2025 exercise of BAF.

His visit included the Air Command Operation Centre (ACOC), Air Defence Operation Centre (ADOC), and multiple BAF bases, where he monitored the exercise's progress and provided guidance on operational and maintenance activities.

The Akash Bijoy 2025 exercise is currently running in full swing, with BAF pilots conducting a variety of missions involving fighter aircraft, transport planes, and helicopters. These operations follow air combat tactics and procedures, including combat air patrol (CAP), ground attack, troop and logistics transportation, tactical reconnaissance, combat search and rescue (CSAR), and combat air support (CAS) for both land and maritime forces.

Currently, ongoing activities during the exercise include Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) operations conducted by BAF helicopters and commandos, emergency logistics supply missions carried out by BAF transport aircraft, and identification and neutralisation of explosives by the BAF Bomb Disposal Unit. Air Defence Alert (ADA) aircraft are scrambling to neutralise enemy intruders, while drone surveillance operations are being conducted alongside time-sensitive targeting.

The primary objective of Akash Bijoy 2025 is to assess the current capabilities of the Bangladesh Air Force and identify areas for improvement through the evaluation of tactics and asset acquisition. The exercise is set to significantly enhance the BAF's ability to safeguard national airspace in the future.
