Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed is leaving for England on Sunday night to consult doctors regarding his ongoing Achilles injury, which has ruled him out of the current Test series against Zimbabwe.
Taskin has been struggling with Achilles Tendinopathy since the West Indies series, and despite undergoing rehabilitation at the Mirpur Academy Ground, the injury has persisted. The pacer is scheduled for an appointment with Dr James Calder, an ankle specialist, on April 29.
BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury, who will accompany Taskin to England, explained, “He is heading to England today and has an appointment with the doctor the day after tomorrow. We’ve researched and consulted with the ECB before making this decision, ensuring the best possible course of action for him.”
