Masood Sayeedi, the nominated candidate of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for Pirojpur-1 constituency, has protested against the false and conspiratorial case filed against Amar Desh Editor Mahmudur Rahman and other journalists.
Masood Sayeedi, the son of renowned Islamic orator Allama Delawar Hossain Sayeedi and former chairman of Zianagar Upazila—was present at a human chain organized by the Amar Desh Readers’ Forum in front of Pirojpur Town Club.
In the human chain, he said, “If the false and conspiratorial case against Mahmudur Rahman is not withdrawn, then patriotic citizens will boycott all products of Meghna Group. Meghna Group has empowered the hands of the killer Hasina and has laundered thousands of crores of taka abroad.
Though they are based in Bangladesh, they are conspiring to destabilize the country under India’s advice.”
He also said, “When the so-called Gonojagoron Mancha was formed in Dhaka with Indian money and backing, causing suffering to people day after day and destroying the country’s peace and order, at that time Mahmudur Rahman wrote in Amar Desh, ‘The roar of fascism can be heard.’
Right after that, the fascist Awami League filed cases and launched attacks against Mahmudur Rahman and forced him to leave the country.
Allama Delawar Hossain Sayeedi used to roar like a lion and fight against Indian hegemony, Mahmudur Rahman is also fighting against Indian dominance.”
At the human chain, District BNP Convener Principal Alomgir Hossain said, “We must build a resistance movement against all conspiracies and stand beside persecuted journalists like Mahmudur Rahman.”
District Jamaat Secretary Zahirul Haque, District BNP Member Secretary Loblu Gazi, Municipal Jamaat Ameer Maulana Ishaq Ali, and District Chhatra Dal General Secretary Salauddin Kumar, among others were also present at the event.
