A total of 24 universities from Bangladesh have made it to the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings, with the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and Daffodil International University (DIU) in joint position leading the national chart.

The rankings, published on Wednesday by the UK-based Times Higher Education, evaluated 853 universities across 35 territories in Asia. Now in its 13th edition, the Asia University Rankings assess institutions based on teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income.

Although no Bangladeshi university made it to the top 300, BUET and DIU were jointly placed in the 301-350 range.

Three universities – Bangladesh Agricultural University, Jahangirnagar University, and North South University – were ranked in the 351–400 band.

In the 401-500 range are six universities: Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Jashore University of Science and Technology, and Bangladesh Agricultural University.

Meanwhile, the 501-600 bracket features BRAC University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Jagannath University, Khulna University, and the University of Chittagong.

The other universities that also earned a spot on the list include Dhaka International University, East West University, Independent University Bangladesh, the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), United International University, the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), and Barendra University.
