A fire that raged through a jhut (waste fabric) warehouse in Dhaka’s Mipur-11 area was brought under control after around one hour of efforts on Friday morning.
According to Shahjahan Hossain, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room, the fire originated at around 6:58am at the warehouse located on Road No 15/2, Block-C, Avenue-5 of Mirpur-11.
In response to the emergency call, three firefighting units from nearby Mirpur Fire Station rushed to the spot and managed to tame the blaze around 7:50am.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
