In the face of students' movement, Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammed Masud and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr SK Shariful Alam of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have resigned.

They submitted their resignation letters to the Ministry of Education on Wednesday night (23 April).
An official from the Scholarship and Engineering Section of the Secondary and Higher Education Division confirmed the matter on Thursday.

As per the rules, their resignations will be sent to the university's Chancellor, the President. If he approves, the resignation will be effective.

A senior professor will be appointed as acting VC to ensure the smooth functioning of the university’s daily operations, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Education on Thursday.
