The students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) organized a joyous procession early Thursday to celebrate the removal of the Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor.

The procession began around 2:30 am on 24 April, when students claimed they were attacked by outsiders near the university's main gate.

KUET student Nazmul Huda said that one student was assaulted by miscreants while on his way to join the procession. The student was allegedly detained and tortured, but was later rescued by fellow students.

The students further alleged that some of the attackers were involved in a previous armed assault that took place on 18 February.
