TIKA to enhance collaboration with DU

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has expressed its willingness to strengthen and continue its collaborative efforts with Dhaka University (DU). The both are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding soon to formalise the partnership.

On Tuesday, the newly appointed director of TIKA, Muhammad Ali Armagan, paid a courtesy visit to the university.

During his visit, he met Professor Dr Sayema Haque Bidisha, pro-vice chancellor (administration), and Professor Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, treasurer of Dhaka University. Besides, Associate Professor Dr Muhammad Abdullah Al Mahmud from the Department of World Religions and Cultures, Senior Medical Officer of the Martyred Intellectual Dr Mohammad Mortaza Medical Centre Dr AM Sajjad Hossain, and TIKA’s Bangladesh representative Manjur Hossain were also present at the meeting.

In the meeting, TIKA expressed interest in supporting the renovation of the university’s medical centre and the development of its pathology department. Director Armagan also emphasised TIKA’s intention to contribute to the educational and infrastructural development of Dhaka University.

The university authorities welcomed the initiative and assured their full cooperation.
