A video has surfaced on social media showing Indian civilians torturing two elderly Bangladeshi farmers while BSF personnel stand guard.

The incident took place on the other side of the Habiganj border on Sunday morning, and BSF handed over the victims in a flag meeting with BGB later in the evening.

The victims are Tofazzal Hossain, 53, from Madhabpur upazila in Habiganj, and Jamal Mia, 54, from the same area, confirmed Habiganj’s 55 BGB Battalion Chief Lt Col Tanjil Ahmed on Monday.

BSF alleged the duo trespassed into Indian territory illegally and without valid passport. Madhabpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kabir Hossain told reporters the victims have been sent to jail in a new lawsuit filed over their illegal border crossing.
