China to provide $138m for health sector development

Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum has said that China will provide $138.20 million in aid for the development of Bangladesh’s health sector.
She said, “China plans to build a hospital for paralysed patients in Dhaka’s Dhamrai Upazila. Discussions are also underway to set up a 1,000-bed hospital.”
Nurjahan Begum made these remarks while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Unani Education and Exhibition at the Senate Building of Dhaka University.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Ambassador said that Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus’s recent visit to China was successful, and that Bangladeshi citizens would now have the opportunity to travel to China for medical treatment.
