A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against 29 people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, in two corruption cases filed over Purbachal plot allocation.

On Tuesday, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib accepted the chargesheet filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), in this regard.

Twelve people have been accused in one case, and 17 in the other case. The court has issued arrest warrants against the accused as they are absconding.

Aminul Islam, assistant director at the ACC's Prosecution Division, confirmed the developments to reporters. With the latest warrant, Hasina faces arrest warrants in total six cases of corruption filed by the ACC.
