NSU set to celebrate Pahela Baishakh on campus

North South University (NSU) is set to celebrate Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year, on Monday at the university’s Bashundhara campus.
The day-long event, Borshoboron Utsab 1432, will be organised by the North South University Shangskritik Shangathan (NSUSS), the university’s oldest and most revered cultural club.
Upholding its rich tradition of fostering cultural awareness and student engagement, the NSUSS is curating a vibrant and immersive programme that embodies the spirit of the Bengali New Year, read a press release.
The event will feature a wide array of activities, including a formal inauguration ceremony, the traditional Jhatika and Mangal Shobhajatra, followed by musical and dance performances, folk music presentations, and live band shows.
These performances aim to captivate audiences while highlighting the diverse cultural expressions of Bangladesh.
In anticipation of the event, NSUSS General Secretary Adnan Sami expressed enthusiasm and a strong sense of commitment to prepare for this landmark celebration.
Sharing her vision for the event, NSUSS Faculty Adviser Tasnim Hasan Saara said, “This celebration serves not only as a festive occasion but also as an important platform for preserving and promoting our cultural heritage.”
This event is expected to be honoured by the presence of the NSU vice-chancellor, along with other distinguished faculty members and representatives of the Board of Trustees, reflecting the significance of this occasion in the university’s academic and extracurricular calendar.
