Mohammedan Sporting Club secured a comfortable 5-wicket victory over Prime Bank Cricket Club on Sunday, chasing down 175 runs with 120 balls to spare.
After Prime Bank posted 174 all out in 32.2 overs, Mehidy Hasan played a key role with an unbeaten 67, while Towhid Hridoy contributed 57 runs.
Ebadot Hossain and Taijul Islam shared 7 wickets between them to restrict Prime Bank.
The win was especially meaningful as Mohammedan SC dedicated the victory to their captain Tamim Iqbal, who suffered a heart attack on 24 March and underwent emergency angioplasty.
He has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
“We, all from Mohammedan Sporting Club, dedicate today’s victory to Tamim Iqbal bhai... We missed you,” wrote Towhid Hridoy on his Facebook.
