People expect impartial deeds from chief adviser: Imran Saleh

BNP Joint Secretary General Imran Saleh Prince has blamed the chief of the interim government for prolonging the national election by providing extra facilities to a newly formed political party.

“We expect impartial behavior from the chief adviser. The government is delaying the national election and granting special privileges to a new political party on the pretext of reforms,” he said.

While addressing a post-Eid greeting exchange function held at Dhobail Upazila of Mymensingh, the BNP leader said that his party will take its own course if the incumbent administration loses its impartiality.

Warning that the passing of time without holding the election may welcome a serious political catastrophe in the country, he urged the government to hold talks with the country’s all political parties for announcing the specific roadmap for the election.

He also blasted the top brass with the government for their inaction, sluggish approach to holding the national election and frequently changing the possible roadmap.

Claiming that it will be challenging for the country’s political parties to join the election under the current management if it loses neutrality, he said, “Stay alert against the conspirators, otherwise you must be held accountable for this failure.”

BNP is still faithful in the Prof Yunus-led interim government, he said urging it to prove its neutrality at any cost by holding the next general election in a free, fair and impartial manner.
